A prospective employer is unlikely to “consider” that your conviction was just a prank. At the very least, it’s indicative of poor judgment on your part. What did you plan to do when you broke into the garage – stand there chuckling about your cleverness? Hopefully the conviction will be expunged before you enter the job market. But things like that have a way of popping up at inconvenient times. I hope you never have occasion to run for office.
