I Work At A Hotel In Santa Cruz , Ca. When I Asked My Managers About Holiday Pay They Said Hotels Are Exempt??

    Hotels are not exempt from Holiday Pay necessarily. But some companies or franchises may not have Holiday Pay as a benefit. Holiday Pay is not like Overtime, where the business will be penalized or fined if they do not pay for it. It’s more of a benefit to be paid extra for working a Holiday or to be paid for having a Holiday off. I would consult the employee handbook to see if your hotel’s franchise or the management company offers Holiday pay as a benefit.
