How Can I Travel To Ucla From Ucsc?

I want to go visit my friend in LA, but I have never traveled so far with out getting on a plane before. Is there a website that will tell me how I can get there from my campus? Or does anyone know if i can take a train down there or something?

    Take Megabus union station to San Jose $1 to $10
    Take Hwy #17 bus to UCSC $4
